Features
- New /minimal and /fullscreen slash commands let you switch the current session between minimal and fullscreen modes without quitting.
- Session titles from /rename now appear on the prompt box border after resume.
- grok models banner now correctly reports per-model API keys and deployment keys.
- MCP tool output size limit is now configurable via environment variable, config.toml, or remote settings (default unchanged).
- Chat conversations listed in the unified sidebar can now be renamed or deleted from the desktop app.
- You can now add a local directory as a plugin marketplace source with
grok plugin marketplace add. - Auto permission mode now prompts far less often on routine development commands.
- Short media paths the model prints (images/1.jpg) are now clickable and open the file.
- Preview now prefers common dev ports like 8080 when multiple HTTP servers are detected.
Bug Fixes
- Model list now refreshes after upgrading from a free to a paid subscription tier.
- Extensions modal now shows clearer enable/disable and install hints that match what each key actually does.
- Folder trust no longer prompts for or scans the entire home directory when it is a git repo.
- Code blocks no longer lose their background shading on the final line of unterminated fences.
- Plan mode now activates immediately when toggled during an active turn instead of waiting for the next prompt.
- Clicking back into the terminal window now focuses the prompt immediately when a permission or plan-approval panel is waiting.
- Paths the model emits inside quotes no longer end with literal backslash-n characters and cause file-not-found errors.
- Next reset time shown by /usage is now correct during daylight saving time.
- The ask-user-question tool now waits up to 30 minutes by default before timing out.
- The free-usage paywall no longer offers a Try Again button.
- Inline images no longer bleed through when entering or leaving the fullscreen subagent view.
- The [Open Image] button under generated media is now colored like a link.
- Preview routing now auto-selects well-known ports like 8080 even with framework signals on obscure ports.
- Login screen now centers the authentication URL when it fits on one line.
- Enter key now queues follow-ups by default while the agent waits on task output.
